I’ve done workshops and masterclasses to help introduce beginners to improvisation and jazz in a friendly, comfortable environment. During one of my years studying at Lawrence University, I organized the weekly jazz jam and also organized and led a beginner jazz workshop so that people who were new to improvising and who felt intimidated by a regular jam could have a safe learning environment where they could learn tunes, improvising skills, and how to participate in a jazz jam.
